The House leaders are now urging the Commission on Election to form a new task force that will monitor and ensure the power supply on May 9 elections.
According to Liberal Party (LP) Marikina City Representative Miro Quimbo, the Comelec should have a special task force that will secure the power supply and ensure that there are no blackouts on the day of election.
Recently, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said that there will be a long power interruptions expected in Luzon and some parts of Mindanao due to maintenance shutdown.

However, the Department of Energy Secretary Zenaida Monsada assured that Power Task Force Election and Inter-Agency Task Force on Securing Energy Facilities already on monitoring to ensure that there will be enough supply of electricity on elections.
