Department of Health launches today its school-based anti-dengue shots for teachers and students.
However the said anti-dengue vaccine may cause some ‘mild reactions’ for students.
Some may faint, may suffer from headache and possible fever though these are only side effects and are expected reactions.
According to DOH, fainting is common to students who has fear of injections or for students who haven’t eaten before taking the vaccination. To prevent these, the DOH advised to eat before taking the anti-dengue shots.
If the reactions appear it is encouraged to drink plenty of water and take proper medication.
Three doses of dengue vaccine will be given at six months interval exclusively only to Grade 4 students, aged nine years-old up from NCR, CALABARZON, and Central Luzon.
