Almost thousands of passengers were stranded while 82 domestic flights were cancelled and four international flights were delayed on the five hour power outage at the Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Saturday night.
The said blackout hit the terminal at 8:45 pm on Saturday and lasted at about 2:00 am yesterday.
According to the Cebu Pacific Air nearly 13, 950 passengers were affected on 78 one-way cancelled flights.
NAIA-3 terminal officials said that the blackout was caused by a tripped sub-station of power provider Manila Electric Co. (Meralco).

However, Meralco denied the claim instead, Department of Transportation and Communication Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said that the 10 generator set of Terminal 3 failed to transmit enough power and caused blackout.
