The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board suspended the implementation of March 8 order of reducing the taxi flag-rate to ₱30.
According to LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez, the board decided to hold the order to hear the petitions filed by eight transport groups and set a hearing on April 12.
The provisional order was deferred following the series of protests conducted by taxi drivers and operators.
The LTFRB also suspended the calibration of taxi meters until they come up with the final decision.

 PNoy expands Ro-Ro system

President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III has signed the Executive Order No. 204 expanding the Ro-Ro system that was issued by Executive Order No. 170 and 170-A by former President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo last 2003.
The new issued order of Ro-ro system allows all self-powered vehicles such as cars, trucks, containers, buses and motorcycles on chassis attached to a prime mover.
In the EO, it is stated that it shall apply in to domestic as well as international Ro-Ro operations or services.

“There is a need to expand existing Ro-Ro service to include Cha-Ro (chassis Ro-ro) to further reduce logistics cost and support and promote the competitiveness of the export sector,” the EO stated.
